NHS Clinical Hepatitis C Testing Van
Tuesday 13th May 2025
9am-3pm (drop in)
in Thursby Surgerys Car Park
You may receive a text message or a letter inviting you to attend for testing (PCR) assessment and advice!
We can check if you have Hepatitis C with a simple blood test, this is called a PCR test. If it is positive, we can offer you an assessment for treatment in the NHS.
This could help people unknowingly living with Hepatitis C to get a life-saving diagnosis and treatment sooner as Hepatitis C infection can lead to serious liver disease and cancer if untreated.
There are easy treatments (oral tablets) with short course of medication that can cure most people with Hepatitis C.
Hepatitis C is a bloodborne virus that can lead to life-changing liver damage or cancer if left untreated.
Hepatitis C can be cured with a course of tablets in around 12 weeks. Treatment is completely free.
So, if you have ever used drugs, had medical or dental treatment abroad (including cosmetic surgery), had an unlicenced tattoo, or have any concern that you've risked blood to blood contamination, come along to Thursby Surgery on Tuesday the 13th May 2025 between the hours of 9am - 3pm for a free Hep C test!
