Thursby Surgery Patient Participation Group

Our PPG group has the sole intention to achieve the aims below,  we don’t want to use this space as an avenue for personal complaints, we would encourage you to pursue these in the appropriate manner.

If you would to become a member, please click here to complete the form.

Or if you would prefer, please come into surgery to speak with a member of our team.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. If you are interested in having a say in the way Thursby Surgery operates then joining the practices patient participation group (PPG) is a great place to start.

No training or experience is required to be a member of the PPG, the most important thing is that you are motivated and driven on taking positive action to help the practice and the local patient community.

Joining the group can help us shape the delivery of services and is a save space for volunteers to meet new people and develop their own skills.

We hope to explain how you as a member of the Thursby surgery PPG can support your practice and how we can support you and the community you live in.

Aims

  • Set goals and agendas based on what the group thinks is important, using it as a platform to share important information and raise awareness for local issues.
  • We want to involve the community to work alongside the surgery and identify ways we can support each other and openly communicate.
  • We would like the group to be from all different walks of life to represent the community as a whole.

Action

  • Members of the PPG will take part in friendly open discussions, potentially once a month, where future events and projects will be organised and agreed.
  • We would hope to run events to raise awareness for things that matter to our surgery and you as a member. The group gives you an opportunity and allows you to be as involved as you prefer.

Support

  • Your role will be supported, your contribution and your time will be valued by your community and your surgery.
  • If you are feeling nervous about attending the group alone, why not encourage a friend or family member to come along with you?
