Community Roots at The Chai Centre


At Community Roots they offer courses that are co-designed, alongside people with lived experience and professionals by experience, to help you find accessible and fun health and wellbeing opportunities important to you.

They work alongside a range of community partners to bring you the very best opportunities in your local area. They want to help you make connections in your community and we are able to signpost you to support when you need it. By working with a range of partners, we hope to bring you opportunities relevant to you, your community and wellbeing journey.

The courses they offer cover a range of topics linked to the five ways to wellbeing and may include subjects such as arts and crafts, understanding and managing mental health conditions, relaxation techniques and using the power of story telling to challenge stigma.

All courses are available to anyone over 16. Please contact them if you are under 16 and they can signpost you to our colleagues in young people's services.

They have created safe and friendly spaces for people to learn and share without feeling judged. They are here to learn from each other and share our lived experiences. They value all experiences and see involvement and engagement as a means to learning and improvement of their services.

Our courses are relatable and inspiring because they've been there and they really understand.

With their name change also comes a new website - Community Roots LSCFT : Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust.

Their new website allows you to make referrals and learners to enrol with us, this makes booking onto their courses easier.
